ASSIGNMENT 1 PROGRESS
These are the interviews questions that I had to create and use to conduct interviews for use in my paper. While the people interviewed did not have to be Olympic athletes or their dietitian/nutritionist, they had to be related to the topic somehow. I ended up being able to talk with a Nutritionist at the University of Florida (note: no longer there) who had worked with athletes that trained for the Olympics and she was able to provide some answers to Olympic specific questions that many people, myself included, did not know about.
This is an organizational chart of the sources that I used. I had to use specific sites to search for possible sources to use and I had to use many different combinations of words. Since my topic was about the nutrition of Olympic athletes, I tried to mainly stick to phrases that involved the use of "Olympic" or "Olympian" so that I would have more accurate information for my assignment. Olympic athletes are incredible human beings and I really wanted this assignment to showcase how they are different than most regular athletes but also shine a light on what they did to get there.
While writing the topic proposal, I had to express why I wanted to research this specific topic and what drew me to the topic. This also laid out what I might discuss in my paper. This part of the paper was part of an introduction since it introduced the topic and explained my plans for the course assignment.
After completing all the individual parts of the assignment an turning them in, we received feedback in order to make the paper or parts just a little better. This really helped in molding my assignment into something that could be used later on. It had changed a lot from each individual part to the first draft to the final draft.
COMPARISON
The guidelines had mentioned that the entirety of assignment 1 would look like a page of notes and the bulk of the time spent was gathering the resources. That was true and my assignment did look like a page of notes. The longest amount of time I used to complete this assignment was definitely a toss up between writing the literary review and finding sources. The assignment was a great way to slowly introduce what we needed to do for the entire project and allowed for creating bases to use in the next part. These pieces were also re-imagined and revamped into a re-purposed version of the assignment which is located below.
