ASSIGNMENT 2 PROGRESS
For this part of the paper, I had to add to the research already completed and show ho what I wanted to do was different and how it could help. For this, I chose to create a study that would look at the nutrition for different sports and whether or not it will affect performance in competition. I really had to think about what information had already been found and what was missing from that information before creating the study. While actually creating it, I had to really think hard about what would give me the best results (the outline of the study is located below).
This is the table that I created to use in my Entering the Conversation piece seen at the top of this page. This is just a more visual layout of the study I had created to have a better organization of the information and see how it would work.
After writing the literary review and conducting interviews for assignment 1, we had to add the interviews as a source to the paper for assignment 2. They were used to expand on information already found, support some points, or strengthen the topic. My interviews really strengthened the points about healthy eating and how it has impacted athletes.
After creating the study, I had to wrap up the paper and explain some areas where more research could be done to further advance the study I created and information already found. I also used this area to explain some ways that the information found by the study could be used and some benefits of it. I was always very bad at closing out research papers but it seems like this time it was really able to tie everything I wanted to say and leave open some areas that others may want to look into.
COMPARISON
The guidelines mostly had us reporpusing parts of assignment 1 to use in this assignment and then, since the research was already done, we had to find ways to expand upon the findings. I felt that since I had some trouble finding sources specifically about the diets of Olympic athletes, the study I had created was a great way to add upon the research already done. It was also a great way to express the topic as a whole. Below is the repurposed version of assignment 2.
